Meredith and CBC New Media Group Announce Mobile Partnership
Better and Parents TV now available on Sprint TV phones
Raleigh, N.C. , (November 25, 2008) -- Meredith Corporation and News Over Wireless, the mobile arm of CBC New Media Group, LLC, announce the addition of Better and Parents TV content to the My Local TV video channel in Sprint TV.
Better is an hour-long daily show that leverages Meredith's home, shelter and parenting expertise. Parents TV offers content that guides parents through every phase from conception to college. Both feature experts from across Meredith's well-known and highly-trusted brands such as Better Homes and Gardens, Parents, American Baby, Family Circle, More and Fitness.
"Launching our programming on the My Local TV channel is the next step in our multi-platform delivery plan for Better and Parents TV content," said Paul Karpowicz, Meredith Broadcasting Group president. "We have a proven ability to work across our diverse assets to reach consumers and find new platforms that help our marketing partners connect with them."
My Local TV currently offers local news video to Sprint TV customers from TV stations across the country including news video from Meredith-owned stations in Hartford, Conn., Nashville, Tenn., Kansas City, Mo., and Greenville, S.C. KPTV in Portland, Ore. will also be added to the video channel in 2008. Sprint TV users can access My Local TV for $4.95 per month.
Adding Better and Parents TV brings new on-demand video to the channel that will broaden its appeal. Users can watch new video on topics making headlines that day or choose videos on always-relevant subjects such as ways to save energy or cooking healthy for your family.
"Better and Parents TV are wonderful extensions of the programming already in place on My Local TV, and they appeal to an important demographic accessing more and more content on mobile devices," said Sam Matheny, general manager of News Over Wireless.
In addition to mobile distribution, Meredith's video portfolio includes two broadband channels - Better.tv and Parents.tv; the Better syndicated television show; and the Parents TV Video On Demand channel airing on Comcast systems.
