KVBC-TV To Offer Mobile Local News Coverage


Las Vegas to receive video, live traffic cameras, radar images and more on mobile phones

Las Vegas, (May 18, 2007) -- NBC affiliate and Sunbelt Communications Company's KVBC-TV will launch a mobile offering for viewers including video, live traffic cameras, weather radar images and more.

The station has partnered with mobile solution and services company News Over Wireless, enabling viewers to access comprehensive news coverage wherever they go. News Over Wireless currently supports a network of mobile solutions for over 50 local TV stations across the country. The company was the first to launch a mobile video channel for partner stations.

"Las Vegas counts on KVBC-TV's timely, accurate local news coverage to keep them in the know," said Sam Matheny, News Over Wireless general manager. "Our partnership gives viewers 24x7, untethered access to local news and video directly from the station, bringing them closer to information they want and need on the go."

Upon launch, users can subscribe to KVBC-TV's mobile offering directly from mobile phones through the downloadable My Local TV application for $2.99-$4.99 per month (depending on the wireless carrier and type of phone). This includes unlimited access to the application and content. Users will also be able to subscribe by going directly to www.kvbc.com.
